How the hell people against people

There is inbuilt negativism, to hate rather  care and caressing them.

wishes

If wishes were true and geninue, would they be true to the hilt. They have to be to the hilt,

Vision a scenario, a wish out of of the the reality could it be genuine.

Contradicting me the of the first liner, how would the second liner be true.

Human beings a we are, dream a helluva lot and wish the Utopian wish,

With feet frim on the ground, would You or me aspire for the impossible.

A question that is need to be answered, like it or not.

Greed enters our life and that is welcoming to hell.

A wish per-se should be , feasible, plausible and bring in a sense of reality.

Exercise Caution when you wish rather than being a want.

He who desires shall be the deserving, intentions being straight and true.

Love and Hate

The word love is a much celebrated word  but the word hate is a word of demon.

The perception of one makes these two distinct words  as two distinctive and diffident words.

The much celebrated word Love , slowly and in a measured way finds the path to hate, what with circumstances ruling the syndrome.

Come to hate , it looks demonish but with passage of time, and the traversity of truth, amiable, amicable slowly shreds the unholy vein of its nature and turns to Love.

Life being a great leveller, with the undeciphered syndrome , come to the same level and meet eye to eye.

Love to hate and hate to love is a wonderful creation of the Almighty, just to prove that these have to co exist but change the context in what it was created, to prove a point to the human beings that these two are of attitude and not a rocket science.

If someone wishes to disagree, I bow before them. Love and hate are temporary but never permanent.

Eureka

God tests good people but let us not them down....He may give the bad generously but lets them down.

Be focussed nad watchful while working, but do not ever work just for the simple reason you are being watched.

Wrongdoers may exist, but the good should not turn to evil.

Life is interesting coz it it is unpredictable , but be positive.

In this world , in any situation, one option will always look better than the other.

Practise inclusive growth and the fair distribution of surplus.

If I have to question hard of the wrongdoer, let me reward the deserving most generously.

Licence to abuse

When you talk of my lovely Country India, Bangalore is a City to remember for so many reasons.

Forget the Silicon Valley of India, forget its cosmopolitan nature and the peace loving localites.

An intriguing part of the city is that along with all these positives, a plethora of negatives do exist. I don't deny that the other cities disown these negatives, But never in the history have I seen a river or positives and a sea of negatives in a city of my Country that no other city can boast of .

Did I say Licence to abuse ? and so shall restrict my domain on that.

What are the qualifications that define this ?.

1. Be a citizen of the city or from multiple cities in India.
2.Be related to a politician right from a panchayat leader to the PM, from a traffic constable to the highest ranked officer.
3.Be related to a thug or thug by himself.
4.Be a driver or a trade union leader.
5.Be someone of some spotlight.

These can go on endlessly.
A couple of days ago when on a walk, on the 27th Main Road of HSR Layout I Sector in the noon, I had a bolt from the blue when a black Wagon-R brand new just came and hit me on my left side. Ironically footpaths are a dream on this road as these spots have become major chat centres. There was no "L" board either on the front or the back, and a great person studying in NIFT was helping his heartthrob to learn driving. The girl on the wheel was as good as a lilliput and the hero was a macho guy. It was raining, and rather than ruining the car by getting the car into a water filled pot hole, the macho felt he better ruin the pedestrian.

Being 52 years of age, with whatever energy , I could gather, I could stop the Car. The Girl was almost in tears, but the Macho of Deewar rage, got down and threatened me that he is the son of a Senior Police Official from Chandigarh and I can't pluck a hair out of him. Menacing as he advanced to me , to state that hell would be the nearest destination for me. The crowd was there but as mere spectators looking at his body language.

He boasted of owning firearms and would just take a trickle of time to send me there. This even made some talking spectators as mute ones.

Proud to be an Indian and prouder to belong to this wonderful city, I saw the girl virtually in tears trying to pull him into the car. What if my age was reveresed as 25 ?.

I thought silence as a virtue and I still have the CAR No. with me. The nearest police station was about 2kms.

There is nothing called as a Road sense here but Road Rage.

Today is an era Licence to abuse, but if the rot magnifies it may be Licence to Kill.

I do not want a true Bangalorean to be violent but one who is sober and tolerate.

At the end does tolerance have a limit ?.

Poor Cops are helpless beacuse of the ratio of theirs to the population.

Long live the thugs... a true tool of population control, which our so called efficient Government cannot do.

To do or not do

Intospection is one terminology  that we are scared.

Intorspection is in built, reveals your strength, weakness, goodies and the guilts. Let's define in a way different from what we have always been told. Intospection is  a self analysis, where one gains a quality of the difference between chalk and cheese, identifying the colors of black and white.

Introspection is a wonderful  tool , to change in case you need to change, identifying where could we gotta right of things , rather than sitting on a post mortem. Could I have done it better ?.

The flow of  these thoughtful thoughts teach you that you could be a surgeon.

What happens inside the soul is introspection and the soul is our dear possession.
Let us introspect and as we will do this , Life is a great game.

Time and Man Management

Having crossed five decades and plus, thought it fit to share my experience on these two critical aspects.

I would rate  them as critical tools in evolvement of an individual.  Time per-se dicates as we often fathom, but then is there not a way we could dictate time. The Almighty has definitely provided us the necessary skills and that is just managing the time. Be it at home, office, metro or the Airport. These time factors do not wait for us and we feel threatened, thinking that time is dicataing us. God has given us immense talent to manage this. EOD have a TO DO LIST and BOD read the same as TO BE DONE LIST. You don't need a rocket science or on  MBA to accomplish this. Am a critic but not cynical to just state Qualification is elementary but am a fir believer in education.

Through with this, lets get on to the Man Management. Complex and dreadful as it may sound, God has distributed the assets and liablities just like a Balance Sheet. Just as everyone looks at a black dot on a crystal clear shirt, we tend to me more cynical. Try the other way, tell the person that dot epitomises of him as  a stand out person. His heart will be touched, positive vibes start flowing in and above all , you bring in him a sense of belonging. He would think he is an integral part of the syastem. Watch for a few days, a new sense of discipline, dignity and a dignitary.

We agree to disagree and disagree to disagree. Sharing the skills aquired over a period of time , should take care of them and not scare them.  You would agree that experience is a learning curve of the past mistakes or errors.

God Bless,

Live the Promise, Walk the talk

The Blog id dedicated to two great individuals of different geneartions rather centuries :
The Much acclaimed Chinese Philospher Confucius quotes : The superior man is modest in his peech but excels in his actions.
When you commit to something but don't work towards fulfilling your commitment, you end up feeling overwhelmed and powerless. However, when you act on it, you experience a sense of accomplishmentwhich comes from knowing that you are getting better, that you are becoming a person of integrity.

In everyday life, you must take time to deliberate, but when it is time for action, stop thinking and with performing deeds. Forget whether you are a parent or a child, a sibling or friend, a student or a teacher, a politician or a social worker, an activist or a volunteer, it is just not enough to make promises. You will become a valued person only when you keep your word.  Thanks for the vision, our only and only Rajanikanth.

In your silence too I have gained education that the world recognises.

Own a unique identity by differentialting yourself

The most important of every individual's ability is to showcase his / her uniqueness. A trait of paramount importance. Human beings as we are by definition, traverse the leeway of paradoxical living.
Caught in the mire of a piquant situation, we are often caught in the conventional or customised way of life, peeking for common threads, what seems to be fashionable and distinct but at an inner or inert level ,we yearn for the respect for what is different of about him or her and would like town a unique identity not found in others.

Please think differently and never fall prey to the herd mentality. Options multiply exponenetially only when one thinks differentltly. Not to suggest differ always with the majority just to prove a point.

Be a focal point which at never stage should be misinterpreted. Thinking differently shold always be a motivating and encouraging to think independently. Thinking independently sparks that illuminating effect, but with a caution , think positively .

A mystery

The Universe or say as it the world, in any situation, would always give us the one opinion that would always look better than the other.

Females searching for new clothes, males looking for a new brand of alcohol, a child looking for a better toy, a pet looking for a better mate.

Grass seems to always greener on the other side.

The timing in life

Timing is the essence of life. The reachable become unreachable, who is deemed to be available turns out unavailable.

The situations do vary and the timing is the one thing that a Camera decides to capture the end result.

Timing adds value in being in time , punctual . Let' say we need to catch a train, a bus or a flight, this punctuality is none of these wait for us for the solemn reason of timing.

Having been a born practioner of timing, I have been cursed as as Hitler, Mussolinii and so and so forth at the back. I practice what I preach.

Lack of timing creates an unrepairable dent in our counterparts, colleagues and creates a negativity that can't be erased for life. This leads to a lack of confidence from their  part but on the time and timing.

To create an impact, we need to be present where our presence is required.

To sum up our sense of timing and the commitment defines our character and how pertinent we are in the scheme of things.

Timing practiced would leave a lasting imprssion on how dependable are we are.

Why this indifference

The biggest wealth we inherited as a legacy is INDIFFERENCE.

Individual tolndividual , region to region, country to country, continent to continent, we all have mastered the art of indifference. Color, creed, religion.caste . Did the Almighty had this in mind when he created this wonderful universe.

Never , he placed  Oil in a region, grain of abundance in another zone, different time zones, different in culture and practice, different in religion but he made with vision that all that created by him co exist with abundance of peace and harmony.

We invented the word Rebel which the Supremo never thought would ever exist.

The God of Glory filled us with the same color of blood.

A flood of indifference corrupted our mind and mindset .

Great way to demean the creator, without whose blessings we would cease to exist.

Introspect humans as we are and going to be that we are being directed and not direct the creator.

C S Venkatesh

How wealth brings the downfall

He who neck deep-in-riches, represents the most greedy, indulgent in self to the core and a great accumulator of wealth.

With the rapitity on amassing wealth, and is trapped by anxiety and a deep sense of insecurity of losing it creeps in. This leads to an unwarranted suspicion of the people around him, doubt their motives. This triggers to the extent of losing one's peace of mind and disturbed over protecting the wealth. Money making should not lead to mindless chasing.

Moral of the post :
Practice inclusive growth and fair distribution of surplus, legitimately or otherwise.

The future

The $ ruled, seems like ruling but there would be a punctuation in the form of a ".".

Nothing lasts forever. Comments are not abusive but as a true statistician ( mean, median and mode),  9 out of 10 times the gut feeling would prevail. My perception is a a Citizen of the World rather than from a remote corner like ASIA.  Always Strong In Analysis.

Comments are not to hurt anyone but then we are having a stark reality of the things to come.

C S Venkatesh

US $ and the Euro

There is a definite sign come 2020 that US $ would go for a spin , and am not commenting on the Euro. May be in for a shock or surprise. One of the Asian Currencies would derail them by then, as the Asian Econonomy is evolving, developing and a stage would stand and deliver as to who were developed ages ago and who conquers the world as a truly developed economy.

Lack of jobs, inflation, debt etc are sure signs of this absolute reality. Am not a fan of Dr.Swaminathan, Dr.Kurien or Dr.Abdul Kalam but am a fanatic of those who play the tune the way it is to be played.

Come 2020 , the world would look at Asia and nothing else.

Fair play and Business

Business is not about winning or losing. It is just how fairly you play the game. To put it in simpler terms , it is a conscious effort of an  organization to elevate and grow by a game of ethics and fair play and not foul play. Be proactive and believe in the strength rather than watching the weakness of a competitior.

One can definitely be proactive to achieve the set goals and not await for the circumstances to drive and determine the results.

Challenges should be taken head on , without worrying of the external factors or extraneous factors. When business ethics become a habit, they would never let you down.

Development, growth and the sundry would fall in place , the way it has to happen. Let us appreciate the difference between battles and wars and once we could dissect them, the Business would be on a auto pilot mode. Who said everything is fair in love and war ?????????????????????.  Be fair and the battle and war is won.

Can find a drug for cancer but not for corruption

Can Corruption be eradicated from India , forget the world.

Complex may it seem but is just simple. It can never be.

We talk of the Governments, politicians and the bureaucracy and the likes but have we ever questioned that this disease emanates from the home.

When we were young, our parents taught us to brush our teeth daily to keep it clean. Now let us be honest, having grown up , we don’t brush it to keep clean . It has come as a habit.

Corruption in a way has become a habit, call it legalized corruption. I just want to jump the queue, I tip the person is in charge. Getting late to office coz of 15 min. extra nap, I don’t mind greasing the palm of the auto/taxi wallah so that I rush intime and pay the extras. Fearing miss a flight , I don’t ming paying double than what is due.

Registering a property, concluding a deal have all become syndromes of this. To realize say I am made to wait in the metros for a week its going to cost the Company say 1.5 lakhs. Intelligent and prudent as we are we call the person and fix him for a sum of 50,000 in case if it is done the same day. I save 1 lakh for the co and rush back to be near the nears and dears at the shortest possible time.

This rot has now been perfected by  the powers to be, who with their articulation, expertise have perfected a new Education F.O.C, an acknowledged Fellow of Corruption.

Can this trend be reversed. Not in my lifetime. The numbers of Anna Hazare,Kejriwals,Bhushans, Kiran Bedis etc. can just be a flickering light and in an absolute minority.

We starting from home ,made a mountain out of mole hill. Can we turn the clock back. Utopian Dreams, the corrupt are way ahead in talent in comparison to those who are well educated, have ethics and above all a belonging to the country.

Forever we would be corrupt coz revolutions or uprising are no more worth the interest.

Hail my country, let us live with daily scams, spams, rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poor.

We still vote in the largest democracy but the fate is attached with it.

A grim reality

Just from Saturday night to Sunday morning , I learnt something more of life.

Yesterday around 8pm, we got a invite for attending a function where my wife's colleague called up for an occasion where her daughter had completed her 7th Month of pregnancy and routine affair of wishing her, blessing her and decor with bangles was to take place. This is as per Indian cuture and tradition.

On this very day i.e Sunday, we got a call from again from my another colleague of my wife callled her to inform that her grand daughter of 4 months expired of choking for breath.or cardiac arrest. This happened just four days after my wife's colleague had conducted the son's wedding just five days back and I was part of it and played with the kid.Such a chubby kid and I broke down as never before.

Am devasted as to what life is ?.

Just pouring my thoughts to lighten my heart and mind and thought sharing with a great loggers like you.

God's play is not kids play

Who is God ? Quite simple Governing our Destiny

I was fortunate to be a son of a Freedom Fighter who particiapted in the Quit India Movement way back in 1942. As per the the then law he was imprisoned for five years for an act of his conscience to rebel and revolt. Lawyer by profession , in his dying days he revealed something that he learnt from his cell mate.

God gave humans just forty years of life span. Humans were devastaed. They knelt beform him for a bonus and God being kind gave them three additional benefits. He took away 10 years from say our pet dog, 10 years from the Donkey and last but not the least 10 years from the Owl.

Humans were a bit satisfied that their life span would now touch 70, although a bit below their expectations.

Now the reality bites: He/she who saw the reality of life, made a cosncious effort could accomplish The God's wish, by setting their academics, settling into a job that would care and caress their family but by the hard way. They created a legacy , that the Gennext would not suffer.

Now comes the second scenario where humans ignored the no. 40 thinking of the balance 30 years in the kitty. No academics, no meaningful employment, getting into matrimony and the kids rolled out. From 0 to 40 he still remained a 0. Kids grew up. Wife pestering for a seperate home, a female kid ready for marriage and the male kid ready for higher education. But the truth absolute enough was that there was nothing in his kitty. He had to get into debts to honour the demand. Elders like mom. dad uncle and the dear folks tried to put something in his upstairs. They were right but +40 he adorned the role of a dog. Barking for whatever that were rightly said.

The debts were mounting with the company of inflation and they started the next role like slogging like a Donkey. What would a Donkey earn except carrying loads without returns and munch the papers. Secon stage crossed, what seemed to be a debt increased manifold. The fear that the creditor may come anytime to stake his claim kept him away from his family the whole day and as they return in the darkness of night, the virtue of sleep was gone , ever worrying about the creditors knocking at the door. He started the enduring life of misery and peace nowhere around. Thus his era of the Owl had started.

Moral of the quote :

Plan to a nicety that you accomplish things by age 40 what God had originally given. Greed lead to misery and a life of no meaning worth mentioning.

I pray yougsters of this generation that what is told by your elders are listened in the absolute context. We challenged God to give us more and he did us give us more not in terms of prosperity but misery.

This blog would bring in a flood of haters but Reality Bites.

Communication

Generally when we run an organization there are two flows of logic : Effective Management and Mismanagemet. Ironically, a third factor has emerged of late : lack of management. This third factor is  intriguingly an off shoot of lack of Communication.

Communication is not just what we say but  how we say it. To put it in a nutshell what is said or communicated is the first and lasting impression. No way you can reverse it. Try it and the door of the hell is knocked. There is never a second chance.

The Management has to communicate in a way that just doesn't touch the macros but the micros. The communication is just not a mere lecture but a vision statement. The vision statement should percolate to the micro levels whose effective understanding of  the communication triggers an effective amalgamation and drive to the Macros. One need not be a Masters of Administration but Masters in communicating in the right manner that it reaches and touches the right chord.

The right way of communicating is that it leaves an indelible impact on the audience who by the efeective articulation of Communication become great listeners. A good listener never fails . Nurture this art would only leave a single sphere of Effective Management. This is an era of communication and let us appreciate and prosper.

Is it knee jerk reaction or action

Hi folks , may be should refer to my post on 10th of Nov'2012 on the plight of  the Silicon Valley of India and pedestrians at perennial risk of their lives.

Now comes a newsclip from Times of India today.

" Ride on footpath and you may lose driving licence".

About 1000 cases have been booked for cancellation  of their Driving licence. Although , I have my own doubts whether this would be a continuous exercise or just a knee jerk reaction. If it is a mandate I would be the happiest citizen of this city of mine.

I always remember my induction days in service in a Nationalised Bank,( I was about nearing 22 years of age as a Direct Recruit Officer),  where the exuberant Superior of mine quoted, that in life there are 4 critical alphabet R's.

What you Really, Really,Really and Really want you would get delivered in life. The first R was a wish, the second R went on to the next level of Desire, then the third one was a plan and last but not the least Execution of these fourth  "R".

Three decades have passed by but this is still embedded in my heart. Lose one of these R and you end up Rubbished.

Let the action of the Bangalore Cops deliver all these and to quoute the great Neil Armstrong, it would be a giant step for mankind.

Let the funeral take place and then look forward

Looking ahead in life is so important

The word Life without the "f" in it reduces it to a Lie.

We are all adept in doing post mortems of the past rather than looking ahead. The past disturbs us to such an extent that we forget that we live in the present and have to look ahead for the future.

Life per-se has three distinguished characteristics. Forget, forgive and go overboard  to a world of fantasy/ies where we strongly believe Good days are on the way. We forget the  past , resist and live in the present and hope for a bonanza in  the future. Let us remember our past has bought us to the present state but   aim for a windfall  on a platter in the days to come.

Self analysis is a virtue. Let us analyse why the past was dreadful, why are we dicey on the present and hopeful of the future. Past is experience, present is an education and the future is for execution . Let us not do mere self analysis but let us be self critical of ourselves and I guarantee you that once that these are done and done away with, let's welcome the future . We live on hopes and dreams , let us do some self analysis, being self critical (laugh at ourselves cynically) and then the hopes and dreams for the future is just what you and I or you were looking for.

The blood in my veins would vouch for the veracity of a self confessed statement. May the days ahead be days of living in a paradise.

Importance of caution

Caution is the keyword that we don't slip down from glory

Sure and certain , each one have been a witness or read the tales of families that lived and walked on a bed of roses and resources but abruptly with great alacrity fell and slipped from glory and walking the same path of roses with full of thorns.

Just teaches us one thing. The younger generation has a great duty of upholding the reputation and full of painstakingly built and ensure that this exercise of building a goodwill and reputation is not sent for a toss.

Painful as it may sound and sounds, it is the duty of the generation next to sustain the growth, reputation, bed of roses bereft of thorns  which had once made them cozy and comfortable. The only guding light can be achieved with immense hard work and ethical practices.

The GenNext is the light that would and has to carry the onerous but a possible task in the e-era.

Nothing is impossible - Bruce Lee. Everything is possible albeit with caution.

Somebody called me and said I am shaming my city. True ! No way !. Rather than shaming my city , I need helping hands to shape my city the way it was. I am a proud Bangalorean but crestfallen at the moment.

the eerie silence

Reality Bites

The blog on Bangalore , has it made the whole Bangaloreans silent ?.

Give us a hand and let us restore the original Bangalore. Let destiny not drive us but let us drive the destiny of this  once wonderful place. Youngsters in the weekend mode and elders in the passive helpless mode have been quite silent on this day. The Sun rises and sets the way it is destined to be. Should we be different or diffident ?

Let us all rise and not rest till the whole rot settles, restoring the aura this wonderful city possessed once, but let us make a beginning. Illness being replaced by wellness.  Chaos replaced by comfort. Concrete jungles replaced again by greenery. I have a hand , would you lend me the other to make some noise on this.

CS Venkatesh
The Plight of  a Bangalore Traffic Police Cop

Enter Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India. It has more to offer than it seems to be.

Exponential growth of population, exponential shrinkage of police force, less or no infrastructure but skyscrapers coming up at a pace which even a developed country cannot match.

The road/civic sense or lack of it is the hallmark. Footpaths are dedicated to two wheelers , pedestrians under constant threat of life . In most of the cities we do find potholes on roads but this is the only city where you find a piece of road amidst pot holes. I challenge Schumi, Vettel or Kimi the famed F1 drivers to prove their driving skills.

The Garden city of India has now been rechristened as the Garbage City of India. The City that was once called "pensioners paradise " is now the "patients hell".

Another notable aspect of the city is that we are very charitable in criticising the Traffic Police as corrupt, unruly and arrogant. I find a great similarity between the Police and the trees (that used to beautify Bangalore). Both absorb Carbon Dioxide but the starkling difference is that where trees are blessed of emitting oxygen, the cops cannot. Their life is so pathetic that they are present in this world but not living as a citizen would do.Now with trees making way for metro etc., they double up as a cop and tree too.

These cops could have brought us a bagful of Golds in London Olympics in case they were nominated to participate in Gymnastics. No other nation could have stopped us. Just step in and see the body movements of our cops in controlling the traffic. Swinging hands, jumping legs and doing so many acrobats that no gymnast can match.

The number of vehicles overshoot the population of the city.

Hail Bangalore, keep on growing.

Money Matters

Kejriwal names 10 with Swiss Bank accounts... headlines "The Hindu"

Why are we obsessed with Swiss Bank accounts and money parked over there ?

Why this mentality of underestimating our capabilities in parking money overseas when we have the absolute and unique talent doing in our own domain ?.

This is our land that gifted us Chanakya and Aryabhatta, true visionaries in their art and science but in the right direction. We have learnt a lot from them just leaving the direction that they envisaged.

Now coming to the real issue, what has been our efforts over the money parked illegally parked in India. ?. Zero. Food is a bit spicy in our domain and so when we say Swiss that adds more spice and our palate is full.

The illegal money, say black, graft, corrupt etc., are more scientifically parked in our domain , in our own public sector banks and other private financial institutions. Why do we always look outside rather than within ?.  That is our basic strength of diverting the focus.

Look at one of the agricultural Income Tax acts in India, a state which is home for Coffee. Say a branch or a part of a tree is cut the income derived of selling it is exempt from tax. But a tax is levied only when the tree is uprooted and sold. Figuratively branches keep on cropping month after month and are cut but the parent tree remains intact.

Digging into the archive there are many such acts inherent in our system often left unnoticed and comfortably too . Let us clean the dirt inside and then you would discover that what is outside our domain like Swiss Banks are just a mole hill whereas the Mountain strongly remains here.

We need another revolution, not a movement for freedom but a movement for freedom of cleansing the corrupt mindset in the system.

A Brief analysis or research on the importance of Finance/Accounts Dept

The Halo behind a Finance / accounts department :

The whole epistle or article is written just for going through when you would not be getting your morning motivator the News Daily, and would like to kill some time.

Even from ancient times where Kings ruled the de-facto No.2 has always been the Finance/Revenue/Accounts person and all others came down the ladder. Indians as we are, we are addicted to the habit of the age old practices. Just look when a Government is formed either at the centre or the state , all eyes are on who is going to handle the plum portfolio of Finance Minister, creating an  artificially created halo of making us believe that he/she is going to decide the destiny of the state or the nation. This has percolated now to the grass roots level be it a local co or an MNC. I am just sharing an unintended research based on my three decades plus work experience, albeit having worked in other fields apart from my parent field of finance.

Is Accounts a Rocket Science  :

A firm No.  Accounts is the least complex of all sciences. It revolves around the basic ground rules of double entry book keeping. To put in proper parlance , it just stresses that for every debit there is an equal and corresponding credit. Let me simplify it , for every left hand there is a corresponding right hand although the strength may vary but the features remain the same.( like an asset or a liability , like a sale or purchase or like an income or expense). The Accounts person just needs the basic common sense to see and distinguish which is left and which is right.

Then why this hype or importance or sainthood :

Unlike personnel involved in manufacturing/production , sales/marketing there is a set target and a SLA (Service Level Agreement) which can be measured and rewarded / penalized, the Accounts does have a SLA too ( Stretchable level Agreement).  It cannot be quantified or measured.  Then how do we create the importance to our community. We create a self created pressure of piling up bills and files and at the nth moment , creating an artificial image to the management that they are working under great pressure and stress. To put it lightly this might have triggered thoughts in the IT sector to create the platform of Artificial Intelligence in early eighties leading to great video games and animated movies.

Does that mean that this is dispensable community or workforce :

Whatever was written above is not a universal or sweeping statements. It applies to a particular section of this workforce who always live under a feeling of insecurity. The advent of  Main Frame Computers, Mini Frame Computers, MS-DOS, CPM, CCPM o/s, Dbase, FoxBase, Fox Pro,  in the late seventies was seen as a major threat like changing from a kurta-pyjama to formals, long and elephant sized books replaced by 9x12 and 12x15 continuous stationery. Ink in the pen were replaced by cartridges. These were seen as threats rather than tools that could put them on a higher pedestal. This was further enlarged by tools like Vbasic, Java, Oracle, SAP . This community has the unique wisdom of analysis, correcting, guiding etc. the growth map of a Company. To Salute the Late US President, I quote that an optimist is a person who sees an opportunity in every calamity and a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity. This is an indispensable workforce and a vital cog in the wheel and are the Doctors for the financial health of the Co., and a search light on the shores during the storm.
The only submission of mine is that change is the only constant factor in this Universe and let the mindset change.
