Truth

Every crow finds or builds its nest

Inspite of the strenuous test

No Sea will ever be silent

And I swear you would never find one ever turbulent

Never seen a Cloud to remain still

And it would pass against everyone’s will

Swim against the tide

The world would find how you bide

Seasons may be four

But your resilience would bring you to the fore

Many a click

May never be the perfect pick

Pursue the path of selective amnesia

Sure you would find the gateway to paranoia

Woman - a sequel

Now nothing on a Woman would ever be complete without this saying from M T the Iron Lady :

"If you want anything said, ask a Man...if you want something done, ask a Woman "

Woman

Doff my hat uncondtionally to Eleanor Roosevelt who said thus :

"A Woman is like a tea bag - you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water".

My personal experience just affirms this .. the women always dazzle and outperform the so called stronger sex ( including me) when under pressure and  I feel the most managed tool in the kitchen is called a Pressure Cooker !.

The women just don't manage the whistles of the kitchen but keep on tuning the whistles of our lives.

Hail these mighty !

An Open letter to Film Industry and Narendra Modi

The entire film industry is now on a tail spin unable to cope up with the entertainment value of the Congress spokespersons..

Am searching for half a cup of tea in Bangalore at Rs.5/- when His worshipful MP Mr.Masood claims a meal at Delhi is available at the same price.

The revered villain of Bollywood , now the HMV of the Congress Mr.Raj Babbar claims a sumptuous meal is available in Mumbai at just Rs.12/-.

Thats the National Capital and Commercial Capital that floor you !.

This should be the red letter day of Indian Politics and Great India where people like you and me are not mimicked, mocked and laughed at but thrown out as a laughing stock.

A laugh a day adds another day in a person's life. By the same yardstick , hearing these clowns, we are laughing all day and may be that's the value addition in our lives where we may live eternally without death and lets us laugh all the way till death while the patrons of these jesters laugh all the way to the Banks not here but offshore. (pun intended).

With so much drama and entertainment offered by these folks, the film industry would die its natural death bereft of ideas and values.

If there is any award to be notified and announced for the best comedian unparalled in the annals it has to be the one and the only Mr.Sanjay Jha.  Reeling out statistics ( am a statistical student and with a great pedigree too ) that only he can infer from these stats as nobody can and nobody rightfully would do in sane self, he should be taken away from national news hour channels coz we may lose a prodigious and precious talent like him. Beware National Channels, your TRPs would go for a toss if you continue to entertain him and drain us.

Last but not the least, the most coveted award for a dual role of a comedian and villain should undoubtedly go to the Chanakya of the Congress, the Aristotle of Soniaji and the Guru of Rahulji His Excellency Mr.Digvijay Singh. This great country would have missed his great aura and intellect if he had extended his sanyasin from M.P to National Politics.

A Final word to Mr.Narendra Modi.. You can take a sabbatical of being the Campaign Chief of BJP as the Congress Party is working overtime to make your post of no consequence and they would do the deliverance on your behalf.

Cheers

Politics of Gas

Quite a pathetic situation for my country folk to land in !.

The Government of  the day, led by a Great visionary and an Economist PM rolls out a blue print for revised Gas Pricing. Eureka !.

He approves a doubling of existing of the existing gas price to $8.4 per mmbtu on June 28. Is he naive to Economics, his perceived area of  strength ?.

Now the Cat is out of the bag !. His so called generals from the FM have woken up to the great truth that private entities like RIL , would laugh all the way to the bank, draining the blood of mine and yours. The FM  now sends an advisory or a note to Petroleum Ministry. This from a Man ( My PM and our PM )who lorded over reforms and finance ministry. He would envisage a spending of a 1,25,000 crores per annum on Food Security but at the same divert more than that to the Corporate Giants in terms of Gas pricing.

The technical outputs or info on KG D6 , is well documented and available in the domain of the public. What is the contracted output and the actual output ?.. Poor to be made poorer and the stinking rich to be made richer !. On what grounds ?.. They had 'technical difficulties' forget the day to day ordeal of the Common Man.

The ambassadors of the 'HMV' (Her Madam's Voice) , attribute everything to the oft-repeated 'Global Crisis'. I pity Mr.Sanjay Jha , for leveraging his best but debatable  repertoire for saving the skin of his political masters.

We the people of our proud Motherland feel it is high time you buck up or leave the scene.

I personally thank media like "The Hindu", for their objective editorial which has nailed you in your face. I also do not endorse media like the shouting brigade on certain TV channels. Mine be taken as a balanced and a realistic view too.

' There be a cap under the new gas pricing formula'.. A line borrowed from the editorial from my newspaper...

When media comments, you tend to state that this media lobby is getting on to your skin, else crow that it is a trial by the media.

High time we understand that the media is the only saving grace in the present situation.

God save our Motherland !

Perfection

In our journey of life, we always tend to chase perfection which is never attainable. This attempt is always knowingly or unknowingly done oblivious to the fact of reality.

But this attempted journey always gives one a wonderful byproduct called "excellence", bearing the fruits of  this labour and other wonderful virtues of experience, knowledge and wisdom.

So let us continue to  chase this mirage (read perfection ) and enjoy the fruits.

I hope our politicians and administrators are listening.

Poverty & Power Play

Amidst much fanfare the much touted Food Security Bill is doing the rounds in the form of an ordinance.

A cursory look reveals that roughly 65% to 70% of the populace is to be covered. What a sham and a shame ?. Now that is "Garibi Hatao" for you !. Having enjoyed power to the hilt for close to five decades, how did the wisdom dawn on the Congress Party all of a sudden ?. Mired in scam after scam, (we tend to lose count), it saw the writing on the wall before the 2014 elections and so the food security bill or ordinance.

Citizens are no more fools. They well understand that manufacturing, infrastructure (roads, housing),energy,  agriculture etc are the engines for real growth. They generate jobs and enables a dignified living and not resting on freebies. Have food without a job.  This is what we call a developing economy. Where is the econimist in the PM ?. Consigned to archives !.

Please start governing instead of  sop-operas.

Governance - Doctorate for Free - Enroll

An appeal to all those interested to pursue their Doctorates in Political administration and Governance. Please come over to India, in case you are based outside India. For people like me in India , we are a privileged lot coz we save on precious air travel cost and time.

Just take this master stroke of education on Governance:

Courtesy : Hon'ble Home Minister of India .

When the whole of Uttarakhand was devastated beyond recognition, while the whole country was mourning for the loss of precious lives here's what he had to say :

"This is not man made disaster but lack of coordination."

All my education has gone for a big toss!. My education had always taught me that coordination is a part of governance.

I quote the dictionary content too :

"
The synchronization and integration of activities, responsibilities, and command and control structures to ensure that the resources of an organization are used most efficiently in pursuit of the specified objectives. Along with organizing, monitoring, and controlling, coordinating is one of the key functions of management.".
Read management as Governance.
What a master stroke of wisdom !. He deserves nothing lesser than a Noble Prize.
High time we agree and rephrase that this is not a man made disaster but the politico-mafia nexus made disaster.
Fellow Countrymen, we deserve better than these caricatures.

A realist

If life continues to be a see-saw battle for some, take recourse to the noble words from the learned Sydney Harris :

"An idealist believes the short run doesn't count..a cynic believes the long run doesn't matter. A realist believes that what is done or left undone in the short run determines the long run".

Indian Politics

Real Integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not....Prah Oprah Winfrey

Searching for that sort of a politician to take my proud country forward. Onerous task but still feel there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh Bangalore

The Silicon Valley of  India :

Bangalore the city that is scaling empyreal heights to be noticed for all the wrong reasons.

Our Claims of being a Proud Bangalorean :

1. Redefining roads : While other cities have potholes on roads we have roads on potholes.

2.We are more worried about Infy 2.0,3.0 etc.. than the bludgeoning problems that we encounter day to day.

3.We can radically question as to how only 40 lakhs was taken by Sreesanth for spot fixing while we can ignore why cost a of kg of tomato in Bangalore equals that of a kg of apple.

4.We can hold our heads high for having a paper in English for medical entrance read COMED) and not having one for Ers. reason : medicos need communication and engineers do not need it. Eureka.

5.Autos to charge 3 times the fare for monsoon. Now taxis, railways and Airlines can take a cue out of it.

6.Electronic City to have a seperate civic body. Not that BBMP would have made things better or different. We are brilliant in creating a family tree of BBMP thereby de-centralising corruption.

7.KMF gives extra milk of 20 ml for just 50 paise.

8.Replace 108 Services with Pizza Hut Nos. They have better and timely delivarance.

9.With no front to take on unmitigated price spirals, H.E. Shri Deve Gowda opines that the Third front is the pill to cure the nation's ills. Bangalore and Karnataka are free from all diseases , so now the eyes on the nation.

Not all is lost amidst this mayhem. We may have multiple revolutions in the offing .
Imagine these :

A new recipe to be available in Darshinis across Bangalore.
a. Mossambi rasam
b. apple sambar.
c. mango palya.
d.banana kheer.

For a small family of parents and a kid, a free Engineering Seat would be given. With this master stroke we can become the biggest exporter of engineers across the globe.

Proud to be a Bangalorean.

Destiny or Destination

When BJP was routed in Karnataka, spokesperson after spokesperson from the Congress crowed at their best decibel levels that the trend is set for the Lok Sabha Elections of 2014 and that is the mandate.

When the Congress loses 2 lok sabha seats and 4 assembly seats in the bye-elections (held by none other than their own party) ..the clarion call is that it is decided by the local factors and nothing do with the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections..

If that is double speak or selective amnesia there is still much in store...

A ex-IPL Chairman takes exception to NM's utterance of the word shameless on his anoitment but then where was his honour when he decided to skip the BCCI meeting in Chennai ?...Was this on account of shame or honour ?..( Now what about Modi or Lodi)

Then we have the mighty DVS.. a sanyasin from MP politics ... a self crowned sooth sayer of India's political future...He knows everything that even the Madam or heir apparent does not know...

True excess baggage is there with BJP too.. yedis, gadkaris, bangarus etc...

But the excessive baggage of Congress has a mighty list clowning all these... Kalmadis,Sheilas,Maharashtra netas, bansals, ashwinis,Khurshids,PCs, to name just a few..

India is at Cross Roads ..Is it our destiny or destination...?....

Am not willing to guess!!!!

Kill the Snake(IPL)

Ross Perot once said

" If you see a snake, just kill it-- don't appoint a committee on snakes ".

I am sure BCCI would appoint a committee so as not to kill the snake that fills their greedy coffers.

The Dust & Saw of IPL

Men think highly of those who rise rapidly in the world; wheras nothing rises quicker than dust , straw and feathers... Lord Byton..

Nothing could have been  said  better about IPL than this!. A saga of dust clouding the entire orbit of the tournament. Spot fixing not only in cricket but also on TRPs.  Forget Orange Cap, Purple Cap lets now cap the IPL with the stinking dirty Cap. Fans have been let down badly. Banish IPL and instead have an Indian Gentleman League albeit the nos. would be less , yet quality would overthrow meaningless quantity.

An Indian Sir Alex Fergusson

This post just revolves on one particular cricketer whom I cherish and have the highest regards for. Yes, Rahul Dravid. The one and the only Wall of I could say of World Cricket.

Leading Commentators like Sunny would often quote " the most under celebrated cricketer of times".

To me Rahul epitomises this "Sucess is Simple once you accept how hard it is ". His was sheer hard work to such an extent that Rahul becomes now a synonym for hard work.

I am not as gifted or as knowledgable as Thomas Jefferson who once said " Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal ; nothing on Earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude ". The attitude of Rahul is the stand out aspect here.

Take this IPL 2013 for a check. Some of the cricketers of his age are merely playing on reputations and making more noises. Look at him, he plays, leads from the front, unflappable and still not makes any noise. He doesn't need to make such noises. His presence on the cricket field does not electrify the crowd as most other worthies or non worthies do. But when he is in the dressing room he commands utmost respect from his team mates and on the field he gets it from the opposition too. Ask the crowd which leaves the stadium after a match if they do not leave with that wow feeling of Dravid "oh what a personality".

I have never seen a cricketer in my era with so much of man management capabilities as Rahul has. He could spot a Sanju, could nurse a Binny, could help Cooper cope up with the pressure and make Shane Watson to bowl his quota of overs, allow Rahane to steal all the limelight and make the right statement of note to the selectors. He prefers to be in the zone of a starless team, no hype, no superstars but on the filed has eleven virual stars.

When Dravid holds back Watson till no.5 in the match against CSK, people said he has taken a gamble. If any of the other Star Captains had made this move it would have been hailed as a Master Strategy. People tend to laugh when he "states horses for courses" on the team composition but when others quip the same they are lauded as great planners. Very few people can laugh at themselves and here is Dravid. When the Naya Soch award was given to him ater the CSK-RR match he had a great laugh with a Why? behind it. In one of the earlier matches when Harsh Bhogle quizzed him of the nos rooting for him to play the next IPL he just quipped innocently 3 %. So much so for the man.

All his qualities could help us discover another Sir Alex Fergusson for Indian Cricket. He can be the best coach or manager for India for more than one reason and for all seasons. Wall is a wall strong enough to withstand this pressure too.

India revolving

Scene 1 : Supreme Court pulls up CBI on the state of affairs on Coalgate Investigation. Asks under which procedure or provision did it share reports with Law Minister, PMO and Coal Ministry. Congress spokesperson quips that the comments of the court are "unpleasant".

Scene 2 : SG and ASG at logger heads. Misrepresentation and suppression of facts before the apex court-----blame game goes on.

Scene 3 : ASG resigns...First scapegoat as offering.

Scene 4 : CBI Director states that CBI is not an independent body and he is part of the Government of the day. What a revelation ?. Was it not the same fact that even a layman (aam aadmi) was always saying.

India I fear is not evolving but only revolving around  the extended phase of Indepentent arm chair wheeling of Politicos.

Is the Almighty listening ?. Wish end of the day alteast Almighty is independent !!!!.

Indian Democracy....A Paradox by itself

About an year to hear the bugle signalling the next election- the Great Indian Election...

Now this post would like to just concentrate on one party (forget alternate front, left front, third front & fourth front), the party that has occupied the corridors of power for the longest spell in the annals of  post independent India.

This party has single handedly mastered the art of back seat driving to such an extent that as citizens and netizens, we the people have lost drive to participate forget excelling.

Now look at some events that makes governance hilarious.

Caesar's wife should be above suspicion - then.
Party should never be subjected to suspicion - now.
Never allow Lokpal Bill to cloud this stark reality.Chanakya reborn.

The Prime Minister who should uphold laws of this Country is defending his Law Minister in the Coal Gate Scam proceedings. His stand is vindicated by the Prime Minister in waiting ,that his party alone can ensure law & order and Development. Governance at its very best indeed.

An Indian prisoner on the neighbouring soil  survives a murderous attack to slip into a coma and the Government of the day does not want to punctuate the nefarious intention of the other side with a full stop. The high command is maintaining its stoic silence. A noble act of Governance.

When another super power in the making, threatens our border, our honourable minister is packing his bags for a luncheon meeting with his counterparts. Diplomacy redefined.

JPC submits report on 2G scam even without hearing the accused (the then telecom min). Justice on fast track indeed.

UPA - Unperforming, Pretending, Alliance.

Lets get onto the other players in the forthcoming posts.

Foolish

Just read an Arabian Proverb :

A fool may be known by six things :

1.anger without cause

2.speech without profit

3.change without progress

4.inquiry without object

5.putting trust in a stranger

6.mistaking foes for friends.

Now having understood that I have done all this before , I agree I was FOOLISH but then having realised that, does that make me INTELLIGENT ?....

A million $ question...

The Renaissance

My folks who care for me or atleast I knew that I have had a lengthy sabbatical of say 3 months + from the din of this world.

What did the break do for me ?. Quite a bit of evolving. I had a few searching questions when I started looking inside or is it  introspection and I found , evolving a lot more when I had multiple tell tale answers to those queries. Answers sometimes quite uncomfortable but most of the times meaningful.

I now learnt that Time perse is just not a healer but a great teacher. Let me not get into the details since the post may become an object of hate and ridicule.

What it offered me ?.

1. I could understand the difference between expectation and aspiration. The former in the hands of others and the latter in the hands of self. The difference was quite stark as is between chalk and cheese and thus the inference or teaching me the essence of disappointment and fulfillment.

2.The manipulator in the mind and the negotiator in the heart.

3.The conditionality of the mind and the unconditionality of the heart.

4.The tangible mind and the intangible heart.

The missive can just go on and on. It had just one pertinent thing... Learn and time to move on. I have now learnt to strike the right balance between the mind and the heart and not getting into unwanted tests like "did the chicken come first or ".

Time for me to challenge myself and not challenge others or things. To take a leaf out of  Ben Franklin legacy, I shall have to invest in my strengths and positives rather than to be swayed by the tunes of others around me. I now understand what is "Pre-tirement" and thank God it has come before retirement.

Au revoir and so long.

Venky
